Rebcka's Story

The number of events that took place over the last three years make me feel like I was in a dream of some sort. I’m still trying to wake up from it. There’s no date I can pinpoint. No date showing where things started to fall apart. A few personal relationships faded out. Life lessons I guess.

A few months back I was detained by the Ethiopian military police due to the current war going on in our country. I never in my wildest thoughts imagined this would be where I would end up. To be locked up for two months for something I never did.

I pray one day I get the love I deserve, the family I've always dreamt of. Until then life goes on. My eagerness to escape today’s reality made me forget what I had always wanted my life to be. Some days I just want it to be anything, but this one.

As a person, I surely have changed since the first time I met you, Redeat. I would even go as far as saying the Rebcka you have taken pictures of in 2019 isn't with us anymore.
